Biodiesel

GreatFuel biodiesel is carbon neutral, meaning that the fuel produces no net output of carbon dioxide. It absorbs the same amount of carbon dioxide as it releases when the fuel is combusted.

Product Markets View

As the world currently prepares and adapts to new standards of living due to COVID-19, castor oil as an industrial product is in demand due to its adaptive properties. Africa produced 700 million litres of biodiesel in 2019. National governments and corporates are divesting in fossil fuel projects, giving an opportunity to biofuel markets.

BENEFITS OF BIODIESEL

Biodiesel is an alternative solution to diesel because it has similar properties to the normal 50/55PP. Furthermore, additional benefits associated with biodiesel include that it:

  • contains little or no sulphur
  • has a higher Cetane rating, which improves the efficiency of the compression ignition
  • has a flash point greater than 120oC while fossil fuel diesel is approximately 70oC
  • extends the engine life by up to 200%
  • provides much better engine lubrication than regular diesel
  • has superior cleaning properties over all other regular diesel
  • requires no engine modifications to be made to use biodiesel on any diesel engine
  • allows users to switch between biodiesel and regular diesel as they wish
  • is non-flammable, non-hazardous and non-toxic- safe to store and handle
  • is environmentally friendly- produces less exhaust smoke and carbon dioxide emissions

Biodiesel can be used in most diesel engines with little or no modifications. However, it is important to check with your vehicle or machinery with us before using biodiesel, especially in older or high-mileage engines.

Biodiesel is generally safe to use and handle. It is non-toxic, biodegradable, and has a higher flash point than traditional diesel fuel, which makes it less flammable. It is important to follow proper handling and storage procedures to avoid contamination and ensure quality.

Biodiesel is one of several alternative fuels available . It has several advantages over other fuels, such as ethanol and hydrogen, including higher energy density, easier transportation and storage, and compatibility with existing infrastructure.
